For over 35 years the Detroit Area Steelheaders, Inc  has contributed to numerous worthwhile causes which we believe serve our stated organizational goal of promoting and protecting Great Lakes sportfishing.  Thanks to our members and contributors who have helped us raise funds to make these donations.

The following list of donations made in recent years may overlook some, but the overall impact is that the Detroit Area Steelheaders give!

  • November, 2010 - $500.  To the Michigan Wildlife Service department of the USDA to help fund cormorant control/research.
  • June, 2010 - $1,000.  To fund two $500 college scholarships for two deserving students studying for an outdoors/conservation related degree.
  • June, 2010 - $1,000.  To the Ludington Area Charterboat Association to fund operations of their salmon rearing net pens.
  • June, 2010 - $234.  Donation of Voluntary Youth Licenses to help DNR revenue.
